Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment – including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today’s civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces.  We are currently seeking an on-site Manufacturing Engineer for our Clearwater, FL facility.  This is not a remote position.

Job Summary

Provides effective manufacturing engineering support to develop, direct, and implement the systems, technologies, processes, and methods used for the manufacturing and qualification of Aerosonic products with particular focus on the mechanical, electrical, and machined components and assemblies.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilizes key process indicators such as the voice of the customer, first pass yield data, inspection and audit results to analyze and drive the process and improve efficiency
  • Usage of risk analysis tools to identify and to mitigate potential process risks
  • Lead the team in root cause analysis to identify true root cause and mitigate recurrences for quality escapes
  • Participate in product development and launch activities

Education/Previous Experience

  • Bachelor of Science dgree in Engineering field, or equivalent pf eight or more years in a progessively responsible manufacturing engineering role
  • Minimum of two year experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role
  • Strong PC skills including Adobe, MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • An understanding of standard manufacturing systems such as cost estimation and analysis, capacity planning, line balancing, lean manufacturing, PFMEAs, process mapping and auditing
  • Experience in Aerospace or Automotive industry
  • Six Sigma Green belt or higher
  • Strong background in precision machining, brazing and welding standards
  • Must be able to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction
