Founded in 1953, Aerosonic has grown to be a leader in aviation instrumentation and avionics equipment – including air data systems, standby displays, digital and mechanical standby instruments, sensors and probes. Our customers include the major manufacturers of today’s civil, military and business fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms as well as all branches of the US military forces.  We are currently seeking an onsite Assistant Controller for our Clearwater, FL facility.  We do not offer hybrid or remote work and all employees must be a U.S. Person.

As an Assistant Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategies and ensuring operational excellence.  You'll partner closely with the Vice President of Finance providing insights that drive business decisions while honing your skills in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads monthly accounting close and financial reporting processes
  • Collaborate on budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to support company growth
  • Manage audit processes and liaise with external auditors
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the organization
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of accounts payable, receivable and general ledger activities
  • Generates and distributes monthly reporting packages for internal stakeholders explaining monthly variances
  • Drive efficiencies through actual v budget variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements including GAAP, SOX and other relevant policies
  • Mentor junior staff fostering a culture of learning and excellence

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance is required
  • Minimum of three years progressive experience in accounting/finance
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to make independent decisions on routine office activities 
  • Ability to work with ITAR products and related data without restriction
